UAE Golden Visa long-term residency card for investors and skilled professionals

UAE Golden Visa

Five and ten-year renewable residency with no local sponsor. We check eligibility before you spend anything.

The Golden Visa is long-term UAE residency that is not tied to an employer or a company licence. You sponsor yourself, you sponsor your family, and the residency survives you changing jobs or closing a business. That independence is the real value, more than the length of the visa.

Eligibility categories and thresholds have been revised several times since the scheme launched. We run a documented eligibility check against the current rules before you pay for anything, because the most common outcome we see elsewhere is a client paying for an application they were never going to qualify for.

Who qualifies

Property investors. Ownership of UAE property from a defined threshold, commonly cited from AED 2 million, with the property registered and the title deed in your name.

Investors and entrepreneurs. Public investment or ownership of a business meeting a capital threshold, generally supported by an audited valuation or an approved incubator endorsement.

Specialised talent. Doctors, scientists, engineers, senior executives on a qualifying salary, and professionals with recognised credentials in approved fields.

Creative and cultural talent. Recognised figures in culture and art, endorsed by the relevant authority.

Outstanding students and graduates. Top-performing secondary students and graduates of ranked universities.

Thresholds move, so we check rather than promise

Categories, minimum values and the evidence each authority accepts have changed more than once, and they differ slightly by Emirate. Any consultant quoting you a fixed threshold with total confidence is quoting you last year's rules.

Our eligibility check reviews your documents against the criteria the relevant authority is applying now, and tells you plainly if you do not qualify. That conversation is free.

What the application involves

Eligibility assessment and document review. Attestation of degrees, experience letters or valuation reports where the category needs them. Nomination or endorsement where the category runs through an approving body. Then the standard immigration steps: entry permit, medical fitness test, Emirates ID biometrics and visa issuance.

Family sponsorship runs alongside: spouse, children and in several categories parents and domestic staff can be included under the same holder.

What it gets you

Residency of five or ten years, renewable, with no local sponsor. The ability to live, work and study in the UAE without an employer tie. Sponsorship of your family. The ability to stay outside the UAE for longer than the six months that voids an ordinary residence visa, which matters if you travel or split your time.

It does not by itself make you UAE tax resident. If tax residency is the objective, that is a separate test with its own evidence requirements and we will walk you through it.

Questions

UAE Golden Visa: common questions

How much property do I need to own for a UAE Golden Visa?

The property investor route is commonly cited from AED 2 million in registered UAE property held in your name. Thresholds and the evidence accepted have been revised more than once, so we verify against the current criteria before you apply.

Can I sponsor my family on a Golden Visa?

Yes. Spouse and children can be sponsored under the holder, and several categories allow parents and domestic staff as well, for the same duration as the main holder.

Does a Golden Visa expire if I leave the UAE?

No. Unlike an ordinary residence visa, which is generally voided after six months outside the country, the Golden Visa is not cancelled by extended absence. This is one of its main practical advantages.

How long does a UAE Golden Visa application take?

Once eligibility is confirmed and documents are attested, typically two to six weeks depending on the category and whether an external nomination or valuation is required.
